My DW and I are trying to plan our first trip to Disneyland and we were wondering how busy DL is during the first couple of weeks of December? Also, how many days should we allot to see both parks? Since we have never been to California before we would like to see some other things while we were there as well.

Last year we went from December 11th to 17th and towards the end of our trip the parks were very busy with schools getting out for Christmas. This year we will be going December 2nd to 12th and hoping that crowds will be less, but understand the 1st weekend will be busy which is why we will be doing SeaWorld one day and LA another.... I would give at least 3 full days.

If you go early in the month its great. We've went that time the last few years and enjoyed pretty low crowds but yet with still a full schedule of shows etc.

Only thing to be aware of is the processional which is the 6th I think and that weekend will be busy. Also DL closes early on the 8th and 9th for CM parties.

Other than that, the earlier you go the better because as the PP mentioned, the closer you get to Xmas, the busier it gets as schools get out for winter break. Have fun!

We went twice last December and it was close to filling to capacity both times... Mid month to end of month it gets really busy...

We’re going the very first week of December, the 1st through the 4th and are hoping for low crowds. We’ll be out of there by the time the Candlelight Processional starts…

I'll be there too, then. It's our first time during the beg. of dec & are hoping for low crowds after the thankgiving'ers have left & before the cp weekend.

the main reason for going in december is the cooler weather and (hopefully) lower crowds. we're only going to be there for a couple of days...12/11 thru 12/13. the only downer for me is that the electrical parade won't be on during that weekend. i think it starts on 12/18...so i looked at airfare for that weekend, and the prices were SOOOOO much more expensive (12/18 - 12/20). so i decided that the electric parade wasn't worth the high airfare and larger crowds...haha...

Thanks everyone for your comments. We were looking at possibly Dec. 1st or somewhere around that, but next year not this year. We were kind of planning on 3 maybe 4 days in the parks and have another 3 or 4 days to sightsee around the area. :thanks:

I really wished I had know that before I made my reservations, we will be there the 6th through the 10th! I am assuming that if I just avoid Main Street on the 6th and 7th we should be ok, right?
