How are my ADRs?

The only thing I see missing is Ralph Brennen's Jazz Kitchen. To me, this is the best food on DL property. The BBQ Shrimp and Grits is AMAZING! And of course, the beignets are the best.....way better than the ones they serve in DL park. We always do this place for lunch, as it's cheaper and never crowded. You can take the monorail and it drops you off just a few feet from the restaurant. It's so convenient!

By the way, Miss 'Noles. Did you see the Christmas Parade? I hope so, cause this family was doing a big'ol Gator chomp right behind Jesse Palmer to kick off the parade! Oh yeah....all my FSU fans we're giving me some attitude about that!

Is the Jazz Kitchen something I can make a rservation for? It sounds good. And yes I did watch the parade and immediately noticed it. I was not pleased lol.

HAHA! That's great.

Yes, you can get ressies for Jazz Kitchen just like any of the Disney restaurants. Online or by phone, but online is obviously easier. And you really don't need ressies for lunch time, but it's always good to play it safe. We actually had to call them to postpone our ressies by an hour because we were in the middle of parade taping! But it was so quiet on a Monday at lunch, it was no problem.

If you like cajun or just straight southern food, you'll love it there. They get it right.

Could not agree more. We had the beignets at Jazz Kitchen twice before finally braving the line for them at DL for and were extremely disappointed.

Now, if you love food, try for a spot at the Napa Rose Chef’s Counter. You have to call the Napa Rose directly to book this.

It is hands down my most favorite thing to do there. If your Mr loves steak, he will tell the chef that and his meal will be centered around that protein. Our favorite spots are the first two sections—any of the 4 chairs in the first two. The highlight of our last visit was when Andrew Sutton happened to pop in. He’s originally from Texas so we had a great chat.

Enjoy your trip. On a side note, I’m not a huge fan of crowds and I loved our Blue Bayou Fantasmic experience. We never felt claustrophobic.

Enjoy your trip!

You could do the Fantasmic package, line up early for the reserved spot, get seating right in front of the railing. Makes it feel less crowded.

I was thinking of doing dinner here, but thought since we were staying at that hotel it would give us an excuse to see the other hotel dining at steakhouse55. Is the chef's counter hard to get reservations for?

That is a good idea. I wish they had a seating area like they do at WDW. Wish all the firework viewings did too lol. Too many people smooshed into small spaces.

Are the rides less of a wait when the show is going on? I really want to maximize my time to ride as many rides as possible while we are there.

The chef's counter was one of the most memorable dining experiences we have ever had, plan for a long amount of time. We were there for just under 3 hours IIRC. I had made reservations as soon as the window opened.

If you want to experience the best of the DLH, go to Trader Sams for a drink and try their longbeans. Can’t. Be. Beat.

Chef’s Counter is unlike any other experience. It is fine dining combined with entertainment. The later seating is more popular, but I like the earlier seating as the kitchen is really “on fire” and our Central time zone tummies don’t think it is midnight. Usually I call 60 Days in advance, but I have also had luck with week of. Chef’s Counter seems to be one of those Disneyland secrets. Perhaps that is because you can’t book it online.

Enjoy your trip!

Agree on Jazz Kitchen. Favorite meal of my last trip was at that place. Also agree on the beignets. People go crazy for the mickey shaped ones but they taste like garbage compared to the ones at RB Jazz Kitchen.
