We're considering a King Bed room at POR, but reservations could not tell us what kind of view to expect. The King Bed and Preferred View rooms are the same price. CAn anyone who has stayed in a King give me some input on those rooms?

We had a King room back in November 2003 and LOVED it. The room seemed bigger because there was only one bed and it was a corner room so we had two windows. As for the view, out the front window we could see the river and the main lobby building accross it, out the side window we could see gardens and the quiet pool. I can't remember the room number but it was in the Magnolia Terrace building. We had a quiet pool to the right, a gazebo to the left, a bus stop kiddy corner from the other side of the building (maybe 5 min walk), and the bridge leading to ol man island and the lobby/food court/gift shop just out the front door.

Only possible complaint (and it really wasn't a problem for us) was it was on the first floor so starting about 7:00AM everyday we heard families going up and down the stairs outside our room to get to the second floor.

Since then we've stayed at the AKL and will be staying at WL and BWI in just a few days. It doesn't seem to matter how wonderful the other resorts are, I think I will ALWAYS have a soft spot for POR

Wonderful Sally! We've booked a king room in POR Magnolia Terrace for mid-February. Looking forward to it! :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We had a room with a king bed back in October 2003, and we ended up getting assigned to Acadian House. Our room only had one window, but once you walked out onto the hallway area, we had a nice view of a fountain.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

We had a corner room as well in bldg #5 and you could see the river from our room though it wasn't considered a water view. LOVED the big bed and it did seem like there was more moving room in there since there was only 1 bed.

Loved it and the view though you can't really sit and enjoy views so much form the mod hotels unless you want people to walk by and look in your room with the curtains open. Open curtains are like a magent to the eye I swear!
