How are hotel occupancy/rates along I77/I95 on Easter Sunday?

Anyone have any experience traveling from NY to FLA on Easter Sunday? We were planning on leaving the day after Easter Sunday, however, I was thinking of leaving around 3 pm Easter Sunday to get a few hours of driving time in to get to FLA sooner (can't get away from this NY winter quick enough! . Just wondering how occupancy is along the major highways and if the cost is higher on the holiday. Thanks for any advice!

We almost always drive to WDW. We rarely make a hotel reservation ahead of time, BUT ... if I were you, I would make a reservation ahead of time. We drove to WDW the Friday after Easter a few years ago. I forgot that it was the weekend after Easter. No room at the hotel where we usually stay in GA & no rooms nearby. We ended up at a Best Inn about 10 p.m. which was really the WORST Inn (no heat, no AC, no hot water ... our room was eventually comped). Also, if you leaving on Easter Sunday be sure you have a full tank of gas & something to eat/munch on ... just in case. Have fun & travel safely.
