I am flying in feb to the world but not worried yet but my friend is due to fly out on saturday and going into a state of panic, so i just wanted to check whats been happening with flights from Gatwick? Have they been delayed or cancelled or leaving ok?

She is traveling by train but if there is any problems there she said she would pay whatever to get a taxi there lol.

I hope i can calm her down.

Form what I've been told by friends that live in the Gatwick area very few flights have been cancelled, and most that have are heading for Europe where they are also having disruptions from snow.

I've been keeping track of the snow at Gatwick because I'm flying out this week.

British Airways and Virgin have been getting their flights out but there have been delays. I think there was a 3 hour delay on BA last Friday when the worst of the snow hit and today there was a 45 minute delay.

If you check out the Virgin and BA websites, they each have links to let you check on the flight status so it'll give you an idea of what the delays are likely to be. However it seems (touch wood) that the chaps and chapesses at LGW have been keeping it all going without too much disruption.
