Can I ask a really naive question? I see discussion for all sorts of discount tickets - Paramount, Ticketmania, etc. Since these tickets can originally be bought from one source (Disney), how do these discount outlets beat Disney's own prices? I've heard about place like Ticketmania and Paramount, but I don't get how they can get the tickets cheaper.

It says right on their website that they buy "in bulk" and they probably also get a 'Florida' discount too...

In addition to what beattyfamily says - the tickets are not really all that CHEAP. The best discount that you can get is about 5% or so - just about the same discount that you can get with the Disney sanctioned (and soon to be gone) Disney Club.
Buying from these brokers allow you to get a small discount (which adds up though if you have a family! :) ) without having to join the Disney Club.
I have bought from www.floridaorlandotickets.com with no problems.

Good Luck! And Happy Saving! :)

Sandy,

The reason why they can sell for those prices and still make money is simple. They pay less (wholesale price) for the tickets than you and I would (retail price).

If the ticket wholesalers are buying their tickets from Disney at (say) a 10% discount, they can still sell it to John Q. Public at a 5% discount off retail and still make money. And John Q. will think he's getting a real deal to boot. ;)

Nice country. :)

Thanks for the answers. I realized the discount wasn't much more than I can get for the Disney Club, but that discount is no good for the Park Hopper, which is what I want to get.

I went to the Disney Store this weekend and realized that the discounts are all that much of a savings after all. With tax, the 4-Day Hopper is a little over $204 with tax. Most discount sites price them around $202. So, I'm not really saving that much. It's not even five-percent.

The difference for 2 adult and 2 child 5 day hopper plus at Paramount and the price at Disney Store was about 102 dollars. This is a hugh difference in price.
