Hi -
You can see by my siggy that we are headed down the first week of June - how are the crowds then? We went three years ago over July 4th week and it was pretty crowded, but we went early and did the parks, then returned to hotel after lunch for pool swim, naps (everyone!), and showers/clean clothes (gotta change clothes since it's so hot and you are all sweaty!) before heading out in the evening.

I'm thinking that it won't be as bad as in July since some schools aren't out yet? (vs. July when all schools are out) I don't resent crowds at all - you can't get cranky when everyone has the same vacation idea you do! But I just wanted to know what to expect...

Thanks so much!

It will still be very busy but manageable. Most of the Southern schools are out in May, so there will be plenty of kids. Be aware that the Gay Days finish up that weekend in WDW. I would avoid the Magic Kingdom on Sat. June 3rd as they are scheduled to be there that day and it will be PACKED! Just avoid their park of the day, get there early and use fast pass and it is very manageable the first week of June. We will be there too, June 3-9!

You are correct... it won't be nearly as crowded as July. Do as you did before and you'll do great (going early, etc.).

DD18 and I will be there at the same time. Have a great trip!

It'll be crowded but won't be as bad as July. You will have gay day / week crowds to deal with the first week of June.

We went to WDW the first week of June last year and the crowds were very tolerable. A few rides we would not have gone on if it weren't for the beauty of the FASTPASS system (Test Track & Soarin' @ Epcot and Space Mountain @ WDW) because the wait time was over an hour. Generally though most wait times were under 40 minutes per. ride. We all enjoyed ourselves.

I am also going to be there this week. How can we find out which park will be the Gay days park on Sunday the 4th?

Wondering how did you get picked to be the grand marsh for the parade?

We've been at WDW a couple of times the first week of June. Usually the crowds are tolerable.

However, this year I am quite concerned. The Magic Kingdom is open until 11 or 12:00 each night, with 2 showings of SpectroMagic. As you probably know, Disney varies the hours depending on expected crowds. Also, doing a little checking on the Disney World website shows very little availability for any except the most expensive rooms at on-site resorts. Lastly, the Unofficial Guide is rating these days as 8, with 10 being the busiest.

We'll deal with it with Fastpasses and getting to the parks early, but based on the hours posted I expect the week to be very busy.

lol - The MGM cast members told me they picked us out because they were looking for a family with only two kids to fit nicely in their car and they liked the fact that our kids just had their faces painted. Unfortunately by the time the parade rolled around my son's face paint had been washed away at the "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" playground. Somebody shot him in the face with the water cannon! :sad2:

This being our first time to MGM, we thought there were going to be other families in the parade with us - lol.

The schedule for the week is:
June 1: AK
June 2: MGM
June 3: MK
June 4: EPCOT

I'll be going the 2nd week of January and hoping that it's not that crowded either!

We were there the first week of June last year and we had Zero crowds, all the rides were walk ons BUT it was drizzling the whole week. We had one day of "rain" where it was pretty heavy but by the time we got up and to the parks it was gone. The rain kept the crowds away. We were able to walk on to every ride-we did Test Track about 4 times in a row one day. The worst day was our first, which was Memorial Day, and we were at Animal Kingdom. It was about 95° that day and the crowds were pretty thick but we were able to get a fast pass for the things we wanted, the rest we didn't need (walked right into Lion King). It all depends on the weather.

We almost always go the first week in June, and the same discussions occur, week after Memorial day, expect high crowds, etc etc. We've never had a problem, just get up early, ride all rides as walk-on's, go back at 12 or 1pm. Return at 3pm (usually a rainstorm or 2 in there) then stay for the rest of the day. FUN!
