How are crowds at least one week before Presidents week?

I am thinking of taking a quick trip Feb 11-14 (Sun-Wed.), the week before Presidents week. It is considered Value season through the 14th. Has anyone experienced what the crowds might be like? Seems like there are lots of rooms available when I asked.

We went the week before President's week in 2004. It was pretty much dead - walked on most attractions. Maybe 15 minute waits on the popular ones. It was fabulous! The weather is iffy though and quite chilly for our trip. I didn't like that. Maybe 60's during the day if we were lucky and 40's at night.

The crowd level was, however, fantastic and made up for the chilly weather.

However, the Friday before President's Day the gates of %$#@ opened up and I believe the entire Northeastern Seaboard descended upon Disneyworld for something called "winter break." We left on Saturday so we didn't have to endure much of the torture. On Friday a.m. we were sitting at the Concourse Steakhouse having breakfast and I swear every monorail was jam-packed with people pressed up against the windows and doors. What a transition from a dead park to craziness. Be sure to make your trip BEFORE President's week. A CM told us it was the craziest time - from President's week through Easter is very crowded.

It is value season for the deluxes I believe so that's a good thing. I remember we only paid $179 for the Poly. That will NEVER happen again.

Enjoy!

As PamNC said - the week prior to is not bad, but as soon as the weekend gets here it is CRAZY - President's Day weekend, so a long weekend for many, the Daytona 500 is going on, and there is much overflow from that as well. We were at Ohana for my birthday breakfast on 2/18, and were going to head into MK, when we got off the monorail and saw the mass of people at the entrance we hopped on the boat and took a spin around the resorts before heading off to play mini golf instead! We were also in MK on Wed 2/22 - for dinner, on my actual birthday - spur of the moment decision - and the CM at Crystal Palace that we spoke to said it was the first day that they could even breath since the beginning of the weekend!

Just what I wanted to hear! I figured as much since it jumps from a Value to peak season on a Wednesday of that week. We would definitely have to leave by Wednesday. I know about the colder temps, which is why I am thinking of the Wilderness Lodge...BC is my favorite, but I think the theming at the WL (never stayed there) will fit right in!

Its dead. It picks up the week of President's Day, but no where near as bad as Easter/Summer/Christmas.
