How am I getting a "reassign" option on a used non-expire?!

Ok, Disney vets, please weigh in on this one. I have a 10-day non-expire that I bought years ago with 6 park days remaining on it linked to my profile. I haven't used it for a while because I only use it for short trips (one day here, one day there) and most of our trips lately have been 5-7 days long, so I either buy a multi-day ticket or use one from my "stash" (I have a habit of buying UT tickets before price increases - it's an obsession, I know!)

Anyway! I currently have my non-expire AND a 5-day PH linked to my profile and my non-expire has the "reassign ticket" option button on it! I clicked it and it actually led me to my Friends and Family page to choose someone to reassign it to. I am SO tempted to try to reassign this to the profile I set up in my middle name just so I don't have to keep stopping at guest services every trip to prioritize tickets and pray they actually do it correctly. I'm just afraid this is some kind of glitch and if I do this, I'm going to end up in Disney IT H-E-double-toothpicks. I think I know the answer - DON'T DO IT. I'm also thinking it will eventually boot me out if I even try to do it. What say you?! I just thought the fact the option was even there was really odd!

Probably boot you out. Our annual passes did that for a while even after they were used. Now the reassign button is gone and it says non-transferable.

I've had partially used tickets and it had a reassign button in it. If I tried to reassign the ticket, MDE wouldn't do it. It would say it was unable to reassign the ticket. Nothing bad happens from trying. So why not try? So if it does let you, just move it back. Bet you it says it can't do it

Yes, my partially used non-expire ticket says that too. I’m afraid to try it though, might screw up something else.

Must be yet another glitch. I have multiple partially used non-expire tickets that have the reassign ticket option showing on mde.

If you do try to reassign it and something does happen, you should be ok as long as you have the original rfid ticket. Disney can always scan the rfid ticket and figure out what is going on.

Thanks for responding everyone. I probably do have the confirmation e-mail with the ticket number hidden in my inbox somewhere, but I've decided not to try it. I'll stop at guest services as I always do and just prioritize. I think I would rather have that inconvenience than the inconvenience of the non-expires somehow ending up in the ether!

I had exactly the same question/reasoning this week. And I came to exactly the same conclusion as you did. :thumbsup2
