Okay, I am going the first week of Oct. So far I have my airfair taken care of (Air Tran @ $180 round trip), I have my hotel booked via AAA (Pop Century 5 nights at $400) and a rental booked to pick up a DWCCC and return to Airport for final two days to see Orlando area and visit Sea World (Alamo $125 total for two days). I plan on getting a 3 day ticket from Disnet on line for $182. So have I forgotten anything? Am I getting a decent deal? I am taking my mother down for her christmas gift (the other brother is taking dad to Europe). No I could have gotten the Europe gig, but can't fly that long. Any advise would be helpful. Plan is to hit MK on 1st day, epcot the 2nd and AK on the 3rd as it from what I have read isn't an "all day park" and we could then get the rental car and head into Orlando for dinner. Doing Sea World on final day....

Have you download Southwest's DING? They advertise "blue light" specials that are only good for a few hours or so. If you can catch one of those rates, you can cut the standard internet rates in half? Otherwise, $180 isn't bad.

As your trip approaches, Alamo/National may send out better discount codes which you should be able to apply to your ressie. Be sure to get on their mailing list (which should be automatic if you provide it when making your reservation).

$80/night at pop sounds about right. "Codes" come out everyone once in a while for less, you can find info on that somewhere on the boards.

Disney's new pricing scheme is designed to keep you there longer -- meaning, it doesn't cost as much to go from 4 to 5 to 6 days. You may find that an extra day or 2 in the parks won't cost much more. Check out www.ticketmania.com

Enjoy your trip. Later in the summer, you might want to post again about which parks / which days.

AK typically closes at 5pm -- so you're correct, it's not an all day park.

Everything looks good to me...One thing from my personal experience is the wait for a rental car from Alamo. Almost every time I got a car from them I waited in line for well over an hour. The worst time DH and I went down and had a flight delay and arrived at Alamo at mid-night and we waited for almost 3hrs in line....The company we enjoyed was about 60 over tired kids under the age of 10 and there parents who I think were ready to just go home... Just something to think about...Things could have changed since then (i hope) Enjoy your trip!!!

Last month we registered *and* paid on National's site, allowing us to skip the counter and hop right into the car. There wasn't a line at the counter anyway, but it was fun (and a bit weird)..
