How accurate is the weather forecast?

We will be arriving at Disney soon. It's our first stay at Ft. Wilderness campgrounds and we are so excited!!!! But...the weather forecast looks horrible. Is it really raining/thunderstorming all day everyday? Or is it the usual Florida quick rain then ok again? I'm worried about how we will fill our days if it is all day, everyday rain. thanks!

As they say here in Florida ... if you don't like the weather wait 20 minutes and it will change.

Unless there is a Hurricane crossing the state you will not see a total rain out day. In summer, it is typical for afternoon Showers/Thunder Showers to crop up. They usually last for 20 minutes to an hour or so and then the sun returns.

I am originally from PA and we could have rain that lasts all day. Since I moved to Florida (2006) the Only time we have had a all day rain even was when there was a tropical storm (or hurricane) close to us. I have learned that when my local TV station's weather report (Jacksonville TV base) says there is a 50% change of rain, what they are saying is that 50% of their TV viewing area will see some rain. It can be raining in Jacksonville and we have the sun 40 miles north of Jacksonville.

Enjoy your Disney trip and expect more Sun than rain.

1) Every warm summer day, it rains in the afternoon.
2) Could be light or heavy.
3) Usually short duration.
4) HOWEVER, it is now hurricane and tropical storm season.
5) Storms usually last all day if it is from the hurricane or tropical storm
6) One never knows.

Weather forecasting is one of the few non Federal govt jobs where you can be wrong the majority of the time and still keep your job.

A few hours at most, sometimes much less. But seriously, these 7 day, 10 day, 2 week forecasts are a big joke - no way to trust them/take them serious - they're like a 'guide' only.

Hurricanes are the only things to be aware of. Summer quick rains usually are not a problem.
