How accurate are characters in the app? Royal Hall?

I was looking at the characters available today in the app to get an idea what to expect for our trip next week. On prior trips we’ve seen the princesses rotate out of the Royal Hall so there is a different line up at different times of the day. The app says Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel are in the Royal Hall all day, is that accurate? They don’t switch anymore? Elena and Aurora have 5 min blocks in different places. Can you just watch them walk by but not meet them? Rapunzel, Belle and Merida are not listed at all, does that mean no chance at all?

Tinkerbell is not listed but she is always at Pixie Hollw right?

Is Groot gone now? Also MIA on the app.

How often does the redhead pirate walk around?

Any other advice?

I've seen times when the app said Snow White, Cinderella, and Ariel but the actual lineup was different. That said, the last several times we went (May and June), it was indeed Snow White, Cinderella, and Ariel each time.

They are available to meet, but people line up so far in advance that I think they just list a short window. If you arrive past that 5 minute window, even if the princess is still there, you won't be able to get in the line.

No, not always. She hasn't been there more often than not for us recently, and she is listed in the app sometimes.

The lineups change regularly so what you see today might not have much bearing on what you see next week. Also, if the latest appearance time for a character has passed, the app won't show them in the list anymore. So for example if Belle was there at 10am-10:30am, and you're looking at the list at noon, you wouldn't see her even though she was there.

Don't trust the app too much when it comes to the characters. I've seen characters that weren't listed in the app many times, and conversely there have been several times that a character that was listed in the app didn't show up. I think their schedules are subject to last-minute changes. But it makes for a decent guideline I guess.

The 5 minute window thing is kind of misleading, and sometimes they can be 10-15 minutes late. That said, if it's somebody you're super invested in meeting, I would get to the line 5-10 minutes before the 5 minute window to start the line, because once she shows up the line grows exponentially within a few minutes (and then they cut it off.) I would also add that 90% of the time we go to the royal hall it's cinderella, snow white, and ariel.

We were there last week--- the sign outside of Royal Hall I think had Ariel list and then just had Royal Friends. They would not commit to who was there and said it was changing. We saw Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel- so it doesn't sound like there was really much change.

Rapunzel was getting ready to meet outside the Hall. We did not see here, but the CMs told us she and Flynn were going to be there shortly if we wanted to get in line.

Tink was there all the time last week as far as we know. We met her. We even saw Fawn on the app one day last wee which surprised us-- don't know if she was actually there.

Groot was out every day and was very popular. He seemed to be out most of the day (except the evening).

No clue when the red head is out, but we were lucky enough to run across her. We really liked her.

The app is probably your best shot at a lot of them-- but don't trust it. It doesn't have all the characters, and for the ones it does the schedule is not always accurate. We had more than once last week that a character on the app wasn't there. We also had instances where we looked at the schedule on the app in the morning and planned to meet the character at a certain set and then the character would disappear from the app. We suspect some of that was probably because of the heat.

We saw Aurora and Belle briefly, but they were on the move. Belle was in her Blue dress. I think we snapped a quick pic with her, but not Aurora. If you spot a character you are interested in and they are walking, sometimes they will let you walk with them and snap a quick pic or will at least talk to you as they walk. The characters are more fun at DLR because some of them roam and play and don't just stand still with photo lines. It can make it hard to get a good photo-- but it is a lot more fun for the kids (okay- and the results).

At least last week, Loki and Dr. Strange were out every afternoon roaming in CA. Loki is absolutely fantastic. If you are at all interested in meeting him, he is definitely worth tracking down. He wasn't too hard to find. He is out a lot and he is all over the place in the Marvel area.

Other advice is that if you are going for a set on the app for a character with a designated spot- get there about 10 minutes early for the Pixar characters-- that will put you pretty close up in the line- even for Edna-- at least it did for us. Even 5 minutes work as long as you are there before the character comes out and everyone runs to them. This also works for the Main Street/Town Square Characters-- however those characters move around and pick different spots- so you have to be there and watch the one you want come out and then follow them quickly to their spot.

We were in the parks July 26-29 and the app was absolute magic! Characters were exactly where they were supposed to be. I found that lining up (or just sticking close by) 5-10 min ahead of time worked well, but twice we happened upon them unexpectedly and had no problem meeting them. We didn’t even need to go to Royal Faire.

What are the wait times like for the Royal Hall these days? I could not find that listed on the app. We are going in a few weeks, and not sure the best times to visit. We would rather not use our morning ride time!
