How about WL transportation & refurb

I stayed at WL about 5 years ago and remember the transportation to parks other than MK requiring a transfer at the TTC. I see here (on this site) on WL info that there is direct bus transportation to all parks, except MK which uses a boat ride.

Am I imagining things? I have been known to do that!!!...Anyway, for those of you who have stayed recently, what was transportation like from this resort? Did you share service with other MK resorts?

Also, is refurbishing complete?...(Or am I imagining that, remembering the construction of the villas....)

the villa's have been done for a while now. they also have bus svc to the mk, so you aren't ,imited to just the boat. you can also take a boat over to the contemp and hop on the monorail line to go to the mk or the ttc to get to epcot.

You will have lots of bus options at the WL. When we went last year at Spring Break they had direct service to all the parks.(Depending on the time of year these buses might also stop at Poly and GF).

I liked taking the boat to Contemp for Chef Mickeys, as well as to MK.

As posted above, the construction at WL has been completed.

They are still reburbishing the exterior of the hotel... in the courtyard till the end of the month.

We just returned from the WL last week. There is still a lot of construction going on outside the hotel. There is only a boat to the MK unless you want to transfer at the TTC. There is bus service to all the parks, shared with the poly and Gf. Frankly, I thought the transportation at the WL was not that great, considering what a room there costs. The boat was convenient at night and in the morning but took forever in the middle of the day(over forty minutes everyday). The bus rides were average but less convenient that POR, as you share with more hotels. The hotel itself is very beautiful though.

Bus transportation from the WL to EPCOT is non-stop. The buses to AK and MGM stop at Poly and then GF. Before 4:00pm you go to TTC and transfer to another bus to go to DD, after four it is direct from WL. This is how it was last month.

The boat ride to the MK goes from WL to MK without a stop, from the morning until 3:00pm. From the MK to WL during the same time it stops at Ft. Wilderness and then to WL. After 3:00pm it is just the opposite, MK to WL then FW. The boat ride itself takes anywhere from 7 to 10 minutes from WL to MK, not counting loading or waiting for next boat. The boat is scheduled to show up every 20 minutes. I've stayed at GF, Poly, DL, BWI, AKL and WL and have found the transportation at the WL to be on par with the other resorts.
