Hello all,
We will be using the dxdp and would like some opinions on our selections.
I have been to Disney many many many many times. (Something like 28 times in my 45 years. I grew up 3 hours away and thats where we spent our family vacations growing up and the what do you want to do this weekend I dont know lets go to Disney) But we just ate where ever we were at the time we were hungry.

My wife and daughter have only been maybe twice. So, I want it to be rememberable for them since we live like 16 hours away and not 3 like I did.

I realize Pecos Bills is unusual compared to the rest of the selections but I have a son playing in a band :woohoo: :yay:  :cheer2: there that afternoon so we wanted something fast for lunch that day.

Thanks
Steve

For me it is too much eating. Both in too much food and too much time away from the parks, especially if this is a visit to really want to see and tour Disney.

You're going during the busiest season, and mornings are your peak touring time while crowds are still manageable. Make sure that if you're doing breakfasts you get the FIRST ADR of the day. That way you'll be out of the restaurant just an hour after park opening. (All parks will probably open at 8am the week after Christmas to help control the crowds)

I have a schedule of what the rhythm of a typical meal set up might be typed out below. You'll see that you're eating again 3.5-5 hours after your last meal with my plan. It's fine for breaks in your day, which you may need being in the park from open to close, but will you be hungry again? You know your family best, maybe it'll work for you.

We did the DDP last year which included the appetizer, entree, and dessert. We never got out of a restaurant in less than an hour, most took 1.5-2 hours. Right now a typical day for you may be:

Breakfast (8:00 ADR)
7:30 - Drive to Restaurant (move it back to 6:30 at a bus stop if you don't have a car)
7:45 - Check In
8:00 - ADR
8:05 - Seated
9:00-9:30 - Leave Restaurant (Chef Mickey Day try for an earlier ADR 7:00 - Drive to Epcot - get there at 8:15-8:45 - in park by 8:30-9:00)

Lunch (1:00 ADR)
12:30 - Stop what you're doing and walk to restaurant in park
12:45 - Arrive at Restaurant to Check In
1:00 - ADR
1:10 - Seated (being a little later and right after the rush you may have to wait longer for your table)
2:10-2:40 - Leave Restaurant

Supper (7:00 ADR)
Leaving the Park Days - Driving your own car add 1/2 - 3/4 of an hour if Disney Transportation.
6:00 - Head out of Park
6:15 - Get to car
6:30 - Arrive to Restaurant and Park
6:45 - Check in at Restaurant
7:00 - ADR
7:10 - Seated
8:10-8:30 - Leave Restaurant

For days you're staying in the park for dinner you can interrupt what you're doing around 6:30 and walk to the restaurant

If you're interested in evening entertainment, keep in mind that Wishes is at 9:00, Spectro is at 8:00 and 10:00, Illuminations will be around 9:30, and Fantasmic at 6:30, 8:30 and 10:30. You'll be committing to the latest of these shows and every single morning you'll be up again and heading out to an early morning ADR.

I don't think that the DxDDP will not work for you, but are there any 2TS restaurants that appeal to you at all? You could do either a TS Breakfast or a TS Lunch and a 2TS Dinner and really reduce your time commitments to eating.

I think your restaurant selections are great; however, I think you have way too many table service meals. When we go, we have one table service meal and one or two counter service meals per day. Some days, we just eat breakfast in our room before heading to the parks.

You're going to spend alot of time in restaurants with your schedule and be extremely full.

As I was reading your schedule, I was thinking the same as the other two posters above me. That is going to be very time consuming.

Dont get me wrong, I love to eat out :) and dining is part of my vacation :)

I for one dont like to plan my vacation around 3 meals a day. I would make 1 or max 2 TS per day.

Enjoy Your trip
Angela

I agree with everyone so far. I usually just plan 1 table service a day and kind of plan counter service or have an idea of where we will eat the other meals.
