How about a DIS family soldier request thread? Inspired by TwinMom7's letter

I still want to participate by "adopting" a soldier. If no one has sent Patty a PM, I will adopt him

Sorry, was out yesterday with a stomach bug.

I can organize this I guess. I'd need to start off with the names and addresses of the "overseas adoptees". Once I know how many we have we can "distribute" to people who might like to "adopt". If we have more "adopters" than "Adoptees" maybe we could have more than one "adopter" per "adoptee" or the "adopters" could know about each other and decide amongst themselves what to send and when (could help keep costs down and yet still get goodies to our service men & women).

Any other thoughts out there? Cause I'm just winging it here!

My DD has two young sets of friends that were engaged and both decided to quickly get married before their (now husbands) were deployed.

Tabitha's Josh is currently stationed in Japan -- on call for the situation with Korea

Laurens Josh is on his way 'overseas' but I don't believe they've been told exactly where he is headed yet (although we all assume).

Both of these girls are newly graduated -- newly married -- and now alone while their new husbands are serving our country!

I will get address for them also and include them in this DIS Service we are doing!

Also -- please keep these young girls in your prayers.

(I am going to be hooking them up with Keli's daughter Ashley. We thought it would be nice for them to all have someone to talk to that knows exactly what each other is going thru emotionally right now).

I still would like to "adopt" someone that a DIS family knows. I know there is a website that I can go to and I will if I need to. However, since $ is tight, I can't adopt someone from a website and then have someone from here.

I REALLY want to "adopt" someone soon so I can get a package out to them next week and at least one a month.

My son has been there since last december. I know he can use almost anything. He had to wait 2 hours in line just for a pair of socks. It has really gotten hard to get anything.
