How “true” is the new Wait List computer program in reassigning the cancelled nights

Assuming that wait list request are saved by requested date, do you think a cancellation, such as a week, is segregated and stored by the days date before checking for the oldest wait list request or does the system look for a exact match to fill the total days cancelled with one request? How frequent do you think they compare the request to the availability data base?

I ask these questions because a CM told me that they have filled existing wait list when a member has called to check its status. This is prior to the system automatically flagging and assigning to that wait list.

The computer program doesn't assign the wait list, it just flags the wait list. CM's manually work the list and process the matches, reservations, and taking the points from your account.

The CM implied it was done with the computer when he said that it is almost instant since the install of the new system.

This is exactly what happened to us.

We checked online in the morning, and our waitlist hadn't come through, yet when we called that same afternoon to make some ADRs, our waitlist came through.

We had checked several times online, and nothing. We also checked while on the phone call and nothing, yet as soon as they said our waitlist came through, it immediately updated the member website, and we could see it once we refreshed our page!

I'm not sure either, as to how this worked, but it worked out for us. And, it was the CM who caught it, as we were dealing with dining. She said she would like to check on it, and that is how it worked out.
