How long? Best place to stop? We are thinking a stop in Gulfport, MS to see family then to ??? In a perfect world, we would only have 2 - 3 hours left on final day.

Does SunPass ever expire? Do I need one or does the new "bill by license plate" work for out of state plates?

Thanks for the assistance.

Mapquest has the drive from downtown Houston to Walt Disney World at 973 miles and just under 15 hours with half just in the State of Florida.

Sunpass has a website, sunpass.com. You can purchase a transponder through the mail. This only works if taking your own car and not a rental.

Also, you can buy mini transponder tags at Pubix and CVS once in Florida. The tags affix to your windshield appartently just like the car registrations tags here in Texas. They do not work after you've removed them. Initial price is $4.99 plus a $10 minimum. Must call and activate and according to the website can't be used on Orlando's lanes until after 6 a.m. the next day. So, I would buy as soon as I crossed the state line.
Don't know if they are available for purchase in MS.

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks! Flying for 3/14 - 3/19 trip but airfare is so expensive driving seems to make sense! (Rented a car in december 2010 and LOVED having my own transport anyway!)
