Can anyone recommend a hotel near IAH airport to stay for 2 nights?

Where are you going to be doing most of your business/visiting? The hotels around the airport are could be better, but if you let me know I can direct you to a good general area with safe hotels/shopping/restaurants. I have lived 20 min. from airport all my life, so very familiar with area.

I live over by Fort Hood, my husband is flying in for leave from Germany. We got a deal on a non stop flight to Houston and saved a few hundred rather than flying to DFW. When he flies in we are spending 2 nights in the area before heading home. I have not been to Houston so any advice of things to do, hotels etc are greatly appreciated!
