I know there was a housing thread a while back but for the life of me can not find it.
For those who have done the CP already could you guys share about Vista Way, Chatham, Patterson, and Commons:

Which apartment were you in, what were your likes and dislikes?

How big are the apartments?

What is (stores, restaurants, etc.) in the local area of that complex?

What is the laundry situation at that complex?

How are the buses?

Anything else you'd like to share.

I was in Chatham square. I thought the apartments were great, but i found it a little more difficult to meet new people. I don't really swim but that seemed to be the meeting spot, so I guess I missed out there...

How big are the apartments?
Plenty of room. The pantry got crowded though (3 bedroom)

What is (stores, restaurants, etc.) in the local area of that complex?
Right up the street was an outlet mall, lots of restaurants, grocery stores, fast food, ect ect. Very easy to find whatever you needed.

What is the laundry situation at that complex?
They have laundry rooms located throughout the complex. Lots of washers and dryers, and a folding table. Never had a problem with any of that.

How are the buses?
I drove, so I couldn't answer this one. I do know that the busses came to Chatham though.

I was at Patterson, I was the first in my room/apartment/building. I loved the feel of the complex, but as the OP mentioned buses do not stop at Patterson... my understanding is that they are never going to.

How big are the apartments?

Physical room was fine (I believe Chatham is the largest). I had 5 other girls in the apartment and freezer/fridge space was TIGHT! Things would fall out all of the time.

What is (stores, restaurants, etc.) in the local area of that complex?
Walgreens, Wendys, Chick-Fil-A, Bennigans are all within walking distance of Vista. Beyond the outlets (which aren't that close), there isn't much within walking distance of Patterson. However, you can always walk to Chatham and ride the bus to Vista. Walgreens is 24 hours - so that's a plus!

What is the laundry situation at that complex?
There are specific laundry buildings that you have to carry your stuff too... there are definitley space problems during specific times in the week, after one HORRIBLE run it with other Patterson residents I started doing my laundry on Saturday mornings - it's not very busy at 9am!!

How are the buses?
Some locations are better than others. The frequency of the buses depend on the stops - they are more frequent for MK than DAK, etc. If it worked out with my schedule then I would take a bus, but anytime I went to DAK or DHS, I generally drove. Getting a bus home after work at MK (if you're closing) is crazy busy. I had to wait over an hour to go home... that's when I decided to drive when I had closing shifts. You can read about the whole experience on my blog.

But in reality, they were very timely and helped me save on gas money. The walk from Patterson was not all that bad... granted I was in the first building of the complex so that shortened my walk quite a bit!!

I figured I would do this since no one has answered about Vista which is where I lived this past Fall :)

Which apartment were you in, what were your likes and dislikes?
Vista.. I liked the atmosphere of Vista.. you can always meet new people and find a party but at the same time there were only a couple times where I had an issue with noise when I was trying to sleep (and usually that was my own roommates! haha). It is the oldest complex so it's a little ghetto (such as the questionable stains on our carpet and the dead roaches we found from time to time) but it's also the cheapest and you're only in your apt enough to sleep and eat so who cares anyway. I didn't at least. :)

How big are the apartments?
I'm gonna say that Vista has the smallest apartments. I lived with 5 other girls in a 3 bedroom. It was enough room for us though.. I guess I was lucky and had the best roommates ever.. we all got along so we didn't mind being close and cuddly :) haha. Our fridge and cabinets got a little packed from time to time though.
What is (stores, restaurants, etc.) in the local area of that complex?
Walgreens, Wendy's, Chik Fil A, and 7 Eleven are within walking distance. Cici's Pizza is also really close as well as Bennigan's. Walmart is only 7-8 minutes down the road (if you drive yourself, I highly suggest having a car if you can by the way)

What is the laundry situation at that complex?
We had washers and dryers on the bottom floor of each apartment building.

How are the buses?
I rode the buses like the first 2 days I was there. I had my own car and I highly recommend having one if you can. The buses take forever and you have to catch one like an hour before you want to be somewhere and it's just annoying. But a couple of my roommates didn't have cars and they managed so obviously it's doable.

Anything else you'd like to share. Enjoy your time.. it will fly by and you'll be missing it like crazy! :)
