Are housekeeping tips part of the tips that you can prepay or do you leave it out for them daily like at a hotel?

Out of the standard gratuity that you prepay, $4.50 per night is allocated to the stateroom host. Whether to tip more is at your discretion: we more tripled that amount on our prior cruises because we have been lucky to have phenomenal hosts who go VERY much above and beyond and worked absurdly hard on things we didn't ask for but that made our trip extra special, and $5 is sort the very least we would tip housekeeping in land per night for basic service ($10 per night if they do something extra), so we upped the amount accordingly for our cruise host.

Because you will have the same stateroom host every day, there is no need to leave gratuities daily.

Near the end of the cruise, you will be provided with tip envelopes for your stateroom host, dining room server, assistant server, and head server, with slips showing the amount of prepaid gratuities. If you want to the change the amount, guest services can make the adjustment and provide you with updated slips. You can also put cash in the envelope if you prefer. We typically give the tip envelope to our stateroom host when we see him or her on the last afternoon or evening of the cruise, and look for the host in the morning if we didn't deliver the envelope at night.

Technically, the envelope is not even necessary if the tip has been paid electronically, but presenting it gives us the opportunity to thank our host for the excellent care we always receive.

I am 100% sure you know this, but I want to point out to newbies that it’s $4.50 per night, per person. So, if you have 4 people in your stateroom, it’s $18.00 per day. I thought your post might have been a little confusing.

Good point, thanks for pointing that out!
