I am looking for some opinions from you guys regarding tipping the housekeeping staff at your resort. Please let me know how much and how often you tip the people who clean your room.

you may get more responses if you move this to the resort board

We do tip (when in "regular" hotel rooms) about $2 per person per day....or around $10 a day, now.

We tip $3 per day for just DH and I...we keep the place pretty neat so they just have to make the bed and give us fresh towels. Never had towel animals or anything like that

When we went with 2 nieces we tipped $6 per day...they made lots of towel animals and arranged the stuffed animals all over the room...the kids got a huge kick out of it

Disney doesn't consider housekeepers in WDW to be a tipped position. There isn't any reason you have to tip them. Housekeepers in WDW aren't paid the same as employees who are "tipped"; servers, bar tenders, valets and bellhops.

That said the normal tip for housekeeping; non-WDW or or even guests who want to tip, is $1-$2 per night. You tip every day since you don't get the same housekeeping every day.

DH and I tip $3/day. We are extremely neat and put all the towels in the tub. If we had more people or were messier then we would leave more. We leave the tip everyday.

Thank you all for your responses and opinions. :) I just wanted to make sure we did the right thing and I knew you guys would be the best people to ask.

Now I am off to more planning and waiting until we leave for our trip....
