Housekeeping at resorts?

Hi....I am a newbie...we settle on Aug. 25...200 points at BVC...and 83 points that have to be used....my question is...we are going the week of thanksgiving for 3 days and are planning on using those points....I know we problably won't be able to use them at a DVC anywhere...even thought I would love to get BWV......so we are going to use them at a moderate resort.......would I get housekeeping using points at a moderate?

Yes. When you use points at non-DVC WDW hotels you are treated just like other guests -- full housekeeping.

Congratulations on your purchase. I would check out all the DVC resorts for availability before jumping to the moderates. The value of your points is diminished when you use them at the moderates (in other words, a studio at any DVC resort is a bump up from a moderate for less points per night).

Thanks for the reply....as soon as we close I am going to call. And I am going to try and get any kind of room at the DVC at BCV or BWV...and I will go on a waiting list....I am just thinking ...the week of thanksgiving will be really booked....so we will use those points how we can...thanks... again........................amy

I have been booking nights for the week of Thxgiving for a colleague, so I can tell you something about availability. I needed two studios and a 2BR and have succeeded in booking everything I needed for the Tuesday thru Sunday (yep, using them on weekends even tho it's more; not usual for me).

So what's available at this point? SSR is where I have had luck. Needed to waitlist the night of Thxgiving itself for the studios (came thru in less than a week) and the Weds-Fri in the 2BR (took 6 weeks for the waitlist). But I got everything our colleague needed, and boy was she psyched.

My advice would be to waitlist every studio and 1BR category on property and see where that gets you. Ask the CM at MS if you have any chance at your waitlists coming thru, and if they are not optimistic, only then you fall back on the Mod.
