This time we are staying at villas that were booked through Disney for cash reservations. Do we have to notify them so that we have housekeeping with whatever schedule they provide for regular rooms? What are the regular housekeeping services.

As a cash guest, you should get daily housekeeping, or maybe it’s every other day, in any case it’s more often than points stays get. I have no idea how Housekeeping keeps things straight, though, and I wouldn’t count on consistency.

Cash guests at deluxe resorts, including deluxe villa resorts, get daily housekeeping. If you don't, call the front desk. That's a big part of what you're paying for as a cash guest.

If cash reservation at WDW through Disney, you get daily cleaning for the "Deluxe" resorts which includes all DVC resorts at WDW. If staying in a value or moderate resort, cleaning is every other day.

Has anyone been able to recently confirm that you can pay for housekeeping staying on DVC points? I asked this awhile back and no one ever responded. I’m doing my first DVC stay in January as an owner, but I hate cleaning up, reusing towels, making the bed etc when I’m vacation. That’s the luxury of vacation, not needing to use dirty towels!! I’m thinking I could pay for every other day of our 8 night stay and we get the full clean on the 4th night, so we’d have fresh things 3x. Anyone know if this is still available? For reference we’re going to be at BLT.

I love that question as we are going again in June, this time with DVC points and a bigger group in the 2-bedroom, so we wondering the same. Otherwise, I guess we will be doing daily washes, not the end of the world, but would like to have services other than on the fourth day.

If you don't want to wash towels every day, you can call Housekeeping and ask for more. They used to charge for them but discontinued that practice a few years ago (probably so they didn't have to keep track of which guests were DVC and should be charged for them vs. guests who were cash and were supposed to get them daily as well as to keep people from bringing pool towels up to use as bath towels).

There have been reports that yes, you can pay for housekeeping. Things can change so just ask at the front desk when you check in so you can get it scheduled.

my understanding is that you can pay... we thought about doing this in a recent stay we had a few months ago, but ultimately decided it was easier to not have to deal with the hassle of housekeeping...

Does anyone know, at HH and VB, if you are on cash stays, do they do daily housekeeping? Or, since it is a villa property for DVC owners if they do not?

When we stayed at Boardwalk last year I recall there being something posted in the room about this. I think it was posted behind the door of one of the cabinets. It wasn't cheap. I'm wanting to say it was 75-80 bucks each time housekeeping came in. I'd prefer to get daily housekeeping, but it was way more than I wanted to pay.

The official DVC FAQ still says not available for purchase, but there have been many reports at several DVC resorts (inlcuding several at WDW, AUL and VGC) that they were able to request and pay for extra mousekeeping. Last published rates (from Feb 2024) were:

Studio - $30
1 BD - $45
2 BD - $60
GV - $75

If anyone has an update, let us know!

Bringing up this thread again……We just stayed at SSR for 7 nights on points and did not get housekeeping at all. I called guest services and they said that if staying points you have to stay 8 nights to get a room cleaning. I don’t remember that in the past. I thought we would have had a cleaning at night 4 of a 7 night stay. Does anyone remember that from before? Seems like another Disney cost cutting measure to me.

I stayed at AK in December and received the trash & towel service only at the fourth day. The following is from DVC FAQs:

Housekeeping Information for Disney Vacation Club Resorts:

For stays of 7 or less consecutive nights in the same Vacation Home, the Disney Vacation Club Resort will provide a “Trash & Towel” service on the fourth consecutive day of the stay.

For stays of 8 or more nights, Full Cleaning Service is provided on day 4 and Trash & Towel Service is provided on day 8 (after which the cycle begins again on day 12). This service schedule applies regardless of whether you are using a Member-discounted cash reservation, Vacation Points, or a combination of both.

You should have at least received the "Trash & Towel" service on day 4.

No, that's been the DVC housekeeping policy for quite awhile now.

What was the policy in the old days?
It’s been the policy since at least 1997, when we bought in.

The day 4 trash part has been integrated into the daily trash pickup - security check, but you should have gotten fresh towels on day 4 (day 1 is checkin day).

If you had stayed 8 nights or more, you’d have gotten full cleaning on day 4 and trash & towel on day 8.

And at least since 93 when we started......
