House of the Dragon

I thought it was great and I was really burned (haha) by the last season of GoT. I think this and Snow are HBO's way of saying "sorry we screwed up so badly GoT fans who made us millions - please have all these great new stories!"

Meh. Nothing I haven't really seen before from this franchise. I'm looking forward to the Lord of the Rings prequel. Hopefully, it's better.

That's a shame. Guess they didn't have the budget for the Doom of Valyria. And no Daenys the Dreamer?
Well, considering that they are picking up 100 years or so into the Targ reign, not sure where the Doom or Dany the Dreamer would come into play.

The Dance of the Dragons is a great period to use for a TV show, it's like a person involved with the industry created a book with bare bones that could be fleshed out into a great series. Oh, wait....

That's my point. When you have an entire book, why eliminate about half of it? It's the same nonsense they pulled with GoT. The source material is there, just adapt it.

I haven't read the books. Are they really good?
The book reads like a history book. It’s written as if a maester gathered all the documents from people who were there and made a history book based on those accounts. Often, those accounts disagree or one will say something happened but there is no other supporting evidence, so it’s often a case of flawed information. I read it, and it was ok, but honestly it really worked as an audiobook

:thanks: I was thinking audio book if I can get them at my Library.

Loved last night's episode and the fact they aren't being lazy or stingy with the dragon scenes. Not sure but suspect the king is on his way out, having a tough time with that throne.
