This trip we are finally going to watch the Cirque show at Downtown Disney (we have planned to do this on several previous trips but could never fit it in !!!)

Anyway - we are wanting to pre-book seating at a restaurant within the DD complex for after the show - before we head off to party for the night at Pleasure Island !

I am edging towards the HOB and would love to hear any comments from those who have dined there !

Alternative restaurant recommendations would be great also.

ps - there are 4 of us - late 20's/early 30's if this helps with the type of venue !

I really liked HOB, food is good, though its pretty cramped and busy in there:)

Another cool place was the Cuban one in DD....cant remember the name at the mo'......food is great and good value we thought:)

Cuban one is called Bongos i think. co owned by gloria and emilio estefan! Although I have not eaten at hob it is one I am trying this time. Another fav of ours in the village is "Wolfgang pucks" the award winning californian chef. I think he has 3 venues here ranging from the express to the 5 star. All venues offer great quality food. Pizzas are fab at the express venue. cooked in front of you.

Another one is Portobellos, with an itallian theme. Very good.

enjoy

Tyke, I almost forgot about one of my all time favs. Fultons crabhouse. Its the one on the mock steamboat in the village.

Always busy so booking is advisable.

enjoy

Not sure if this of interest, but Mousesaver's newsletter had the following about HOB...

"House of Blues 'Pass the Line' Program
House of Blues recently announced a new program that rewards concert guests for dining at the House of Blues Restaurant at Downtown Disney West Side in Walt Disney World.

"Pass the Line" offers guests who dine at the House of Blues Restaurant before attending a House of Blues show the opportunity to use an exclusive line to enter the venue 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled door opening time. To utilize this program, each ticket holder must purchase one dinner entrée or spend $35 in the House of Blues Company Store. "Pass the Line" is not available for all shows or events.

For information, call the House of Blues Box Office at (407) 934-2583 or the House of Blues Restaurant at (407) 934-2623."

Ask to sit out on the back porch - it is more roomy and you have a view of the boats going back and forth across the lake.

We tried the corn bread last time - did not really know what it would be like - but was surpised that it was more like cake and very sweet, but very nice!

The desserts are lovely and really good sizes - might be an idea to share!

Hope you enjoy it,

Michelle

We ate at H O B a few years back and also at Bongos. Food equally good but more atmosphere in H O B.

If you mean Bongo's we found the food was awful, as was the service and the bill. Avoid it like the plague !

We have used HOB the last 3 visits, first 2 visits were great and the 3rd one not so good, we were sat by the back door which was cold, kept asking to be moved and wasnt, kids were that hungry we hung in with our jumpers on, food was ok not great like before, and a little cold.

Spoke to the manager on the was out who was not interested and even email'd HOB when we got home and never even got a reply.

Shame as we did enjoy it the first couple times
