We just purchased a $25. Restaurant.com gift certificate for HOB for our mid Jan. trip. Has anyone used one before? Do you need to make ressies for around 5PM? How is the food there? Do you book ressies with Disney Dining? Any suggestions on food or anything else would be appreciated. We have never been to HOB for a meal before. Thanks.

Doubtful you'd need an ADR for 5:00 p.m. in mid January, but it can't hurt to have one. Those are booked through WDW dining. If you could consider getting there just a little earlier, the happy hour from 3-5 has killer drink specials and 1/2 price appetizers. Just FYI.
The food is pretty darned good, and a good overall value in the world of DTD restaurants.
We like the pizza there, and the burgers. The gumbo is usually excellent, and they make decent salads. The rosemary cornbread is very good, but expensive IMHO.

We just went there and used the restaurant.com gift certificate. We went pretty late for dinner, around 10 pm, and they had just started the half price apps. We were seated quickly, but the place filled up right after we were seated because there was a band playing in the restaurant that night. They started shortly after we were seated.

Our food was really good. DH really liked the restaurant and wants to go back. I am posting my review of HOB this morning on the review board.

We used a certificate in August, had a reserevation for around 5:30PM, but didn't really need one. We really like the food here, always served hot, very fresh and lots of flavor! I had the appetizer pepperoni pizza which was very good, DH and DS had sandwiches they really liked. We've eaten here many times and the food is consistantly good. With the $25 certificate, you can't go wrong!!! Have fun...:) And I agree that the cornbread is good. I sometimes get the appetizer Voodoo Shrimp and Rosemary Cornbread - very tasty.
