I've got a night at Down Town Disney sceduled for Friday Oct 12th

House of Blues just called and said a private party booked the resturant and all the folks that made ADR's just got dropped :sad2:

All I could think of was Wolf Gang Pucks (don't know anything about it, just remember the name from walking around).... they didn't have room in the up-stairs resturant...so I took the cafe.

Is Wolf Gang Puck good? How is the Cafe? Crowded? Seating okay?

Does anyone have a better idea? We went to Fultunes Crab last time...so we want something new.

Any ideas? I guess I need to move fast since its a Friday night at DTD

Thanks :wizard:

Have you thought about Raglan Road? We did WPC in Feb. it was ok for us. We didn't think it was that great but it could of been an off night. As soon as we got back to the room after eating DH got really sick but I think he got a virus our son had before we went but since he got so sick he said he never wants to go back there because of the bad memories. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think either at 8 or 9 Raglan has a Irish band that plays and Irish dancer.

I must say the calamari at WPC was pretty good.

Good luck!:wizard:

We really enjoy WPC. Only negative is the noise. It always seems loud to me. We have always had very good service & food.

Thanks for the help.

I'm going to look at Raglan Road.... the only problem I have with Puck is it seems hectic! I like a table and some space, without getting stepped on.

Is there also a Cuban place? Opened by the singer from Miami?

The Cuban place is called Bongos and was opened by Gloria Estevan. I've never eaten there but would like to know what anyone else thinks of it as we are considering trying it for lunch one day on our next trip.

Another vote for Raglan Road - they have live music and good food. We've eaten there on two different vacations and have had very good experiences. It's a big place but it does get crowded and noisy - lots of fun, though.

We had a great meal at Planet Hollywood. It was a little loud, but good food and service!

Raglan Road! The food, the service and the atmopshere were all wonderful! :thumbsup2 If you want a quieter, more laid back expereince, book an earlier dinner ADR. If you want to join in on the entertainment, book an ADR for 8:45 or after as the band and dancer usually start about 9ish. We did both an early and a later dinner in June and had a wonderful time at both! :upsidedow

I don't know who to quote a thread title so I copied it....

consider yourself LUCKY :lmao:

I have a HOB about 1 block from my office and I go there about 4 times a year because I really WANT to like the place, but every time I go, I just leave disappointed.

Can't speak for Chicago, but the HoB in Orlando is excellent. :thumbsup2

Okay, from what I have heard.

If you are not from an area where you can obtain real spanish food then Bongos is good. I would reccomend the Palomilla steak (A very thin nicely marinated steak). From what I have heard many out of state people like Bongos. It makes a wonderful introduction to cuban food.

However, if like me you live somewhere that allows you to regularly obtain *real* cuban food than it won't be good and you will hate it. I get this type of food at least once a week where I live.

The food is alright, it is just I live in Miami and can get the truly authentic stuff. I don't like the way the make their croquettes or their bread and some fo the food has been tweaked a bit for american tastes. Like I said, it tastes good.... just different from the real stuff.

If you have never eaten this type of food before you will like it. If you have eaten this type of food before then forget it.

HOB definitely varies by location. We like the Orlando restaurant, but think the HOB in NOLA is much better.

FWIW, I'd skip WPC. It was so loud in there, we couldn't wait to leave.

We got the call today too that our reservations for Frid 10/12 had to be cancelled due to the private party. They were very nice when I rescheduled for the day before and even giving us 30% off. We were really excited to go to HOB and am glad we were able to reschedule. Hopefully you will find another great spot for dinner that night!

Well, normally I would say Raglan Road. My two recent experiences there were good. However I just wrote a review on the review board and included that I suggested to friends to dine at RR last Sunday evening. Did not work out well for them at all. :sad2:
I would suggest if you are already in DTD to take the boat over to Saratoga Springs and dine at the Turf Club. :thumbsup2 I don't think you could go wrong there. My review mentions the Turf Club and DDP in the title.

If you dont mind CS I would go to Wolfgang Pucks Express, the food is awesome.

Has anyone gone to WolfGang's fancy restaurant upstairs?

Haven't heard much about that?

I enjoyed the food at Wolfgang Puck Cafe but I agree that it is noisy and hectic. The area we sat was pretty cramped too. I'd go back again but onlyu if I am in the mood for being near a not of people.

You might consider Portobello Yacht club. I have read some good reviews of it lately.
