House near Universal??? PLEASE HELP

Does anyone know of a 4 bedroom house as close to Universal as possible? I have found 30 houses to choose from but most say 25 minutes to Universal, we would love to stay closer. Does anyone have any recomendations?

I was also looking for a house close to Universal. We ended up booking a home in Windsor Palms.

I was told that there is some weird law that makes it so people can not rent their homes in the Universal Studios Area. Not sure if that is true or not but since I could not find any homes to rent I guessed it was true.

I have never stayed in a villa near Universal myself but I have just googled 'villas for rent at dr phillips orlando' and that seemed to bring quite a few results back. I didnt go into any of them but I know that this place is nearer to Universal than any villas in say Kissimmee for example!

Vista Cay is probably the closest you can get. There IS some zoning ordinance that exists that doesn't allow for rentals, but I can't quote it (it's here on the boards somewhere, or someone will come along and give it).

Vista Cay has townhomes & condos that look wonderful and so far, I haven't heard anything negative about them. I plan to try them for one of our future trips also.

We've stayed at Vista Cay, and it was very convenient for Universal & Sea World. As others have said, it was the only place I could find close to Universal.

I rented directly from an owner at www.vistacayrent.com. You can also find rentals from the owner at www.vrbo.com. These will generally be lower-priced than renting from a Management Company.
