Hours to avoid I-5?

We will be driving from Escondido to Newport Beach on either a Sunday afternoon or Monday morning. What are the hours to avoid the 5 for the worst of the traffic congestion?

Sunday you might have some congestion with people coming home. Monday -Friday any where between 6am -9am. Evening could be around 4:30 -5pm and traffic may slack off about 7pm

Either leave 6 AM Monday, or after 6 PM on Sunday. If you get a late start, leave after 9 AM Monday.

You can always use Google Maps to put in the from and to locations and then use the arrive by/depart at feature and pick a day. This will give you the expected traffic times.
