Hotwire guests treated like second class citizens at S/D?

This past summer I booked part of our vacation thru Hotwire at the Dolphin. I've never used Hotwire before, but the rate of $109 was too good to pass up!

Here's my question: Will we be treated "different" than regular guests, i.e. can I make a request to be put in a renovated room? We are members of SPG club, but I understand as of 1/1 they do not give upgrades for rooms purchased thru third-party vendors.

Truthfully, I'm not that concerned, but would like to know what to expect.

I checked in on Dec. 1 with a Priceline reservation. I also have a AAA Starwood preferred card. Everyone had just left after the Thanksgiving weekend and they had alot of rooms open. I asked nicely if I could get a renovated room with a nice view and ended up on the 7th floor with a view of the Y&BC and Epcot!!!! I did ask about a balcony, but even she said that wasn't possible. Oh well, it never hurts to ask!!!

WOW! the names of threads sure can be deceiving..... I read the name of this and thought for sure you were giving a report of having been treated like a second class citizen.

Sure glad that is not true - we have stayed at S&D many times on all different types of rates and never been treated poorly!

We stayed at the Dolphin last June with an $81 Hotwire rate and couldn't have been treated any better. We were upgraded to a balcony room with an obstructed view of EPCOT. We were on a lower floor so our view was obstructed a little from the other part of the building.

Thanks so much for your replies! I was hoping that would be the case, but seeing as we've never used Hotwire before I wasn't sure.

I'm glad a renovated room doesn't sound like an unreasonable request.
