I'm trying to save some money on a hotel room in the North Conway area. Hotwire shows Attitash at $76 a night. Does anyone know if it is the Attitash Hotel or the Attitash Mountain VIllage?

Also, can anyone give me their experiences using Hotwire? Will I have any problems checking in if I book with them? Do you get a decent room? Thanks

If you're getting the Grand Summit for $76, that's an awesome deal! If it's the Mountain Village, the rooms there are pretty good. I have a conference up there every year, and always hope I get one of the overflow rooms at the Village. The Summit is nice, but the room sizes vary. My husband and I once got a room there that had as much space as our first apartment, and our friends got a room that had a couch and a Murphy bed, in about a closet sized space.

I know nothing about Hotwire, sorry :)

Love, love, love Hotwire. Never had a problem checking in,
A good trick to try and guess what you will get is to go to packages and try for a hotel/car combo. Those hotels aren't opaque and typically the star hotel there is the star hotel you will win.
Also, betterbidding.com can also give you a good guess based on amenities listed!

Thanks for the replies. Hotwire only has 1 hotel listed in North Conway and it says "Attitash", so I can assume that it is either the "Mountain Village" or the Grand Summit.

Funny how you said the rooms as the Grand Summit were so-so, some small, some great-that's the exact problem I had with the Mountain Village.

Do some reading here before buying. At the top is the hotel list. You can see what some of the hotels that have been won are. Keep in mind, though, that a different hotel could pop up and it's no guarantee that you will get one that's on that list. But it will give you an idea.

You can also read on the next thread (the hotwire one) and see what others might have 'won' in the area you're looking at and what they paid for what dates, etc.

Also, in your op you said it says 'Attitash'. It's actually the 'Attitash - North Conway' area. If you look you'll see a place where you can click for 'area map' that explains just exactly where the boundaries of that area are. Imo, you're looking at alot more possibilities than just the 2 hotels you mentioned. I just picked a random week in January and it popped up with a $74 room. That might be the Holiday Inn Express in No Conway. How do I know? I don't, but I do know that the HIE is a smoke free hotel, has laundry facilities, etc...it matches all of the icons that the 'hidden' Hotwire hotel matches. But, even if you're fairly sure there's always a chance it will be somewhere else.

Having said that. I've used Hotwire successfully a number of time with no problem. (Even for a pre-cruise one night stay for my honeymoon!) I would check out what regular prices are, best deals, etc for the time you want to be there. Then decide what amenities you MUST have, like an indoor pool or a restaurant on site. Be SURE before you purchase on Hotwire that the hotel you're seeing at a price you want has those icons.
