I was looking at Hotwire and there are some good prices for DTD area hotels. It says $69 for a DTD three star hotel.

Has anyone used Hotwire and what kind of hotel do you think that is?

We are arriving Nov. 14 only staying one night before our WL stay!

Thanks

I'm thinking of booking a "mystery" 3-star hotel in the MCO area through Hotwire.. but I'm scared! :scared: It's not even for me, but for my mom and her travelling party.. it's just for one night, until the next morning when DH and I fly in, but still. What if it's really awful? What if the airport shuttle (which they will definitely need) is unreliable, or they charge for rides? Ugh, this mystery shopping is terribly nerve-wracking.

Well I booked a "mystery" hotel using Hotwire - you can get a shortlist of what it is on www.betterbidding.com.

I'm very happy with our hotel and we're due to arrive in 5 days. I would say go with it. We got a 3* in DTD area for $49 a night.

Which hotel did you end up getting? There are 7 DTD hotels ( I think) and I wouldn't mind staying in any of them.

I went for it -- and ended up with a great hotel! Sometimes the gamble really is worth it! :)

I can pretty much assure you a 90% chance that is the Sheraton Safari, and a 9% chance of it being the Orlando Vista (formerly DoubleTree). I'd guess the Sheraton Safari as they seem to participate much more with Hotwire/Priceline! The other 1%?? (It's NEVER a sure thing!)

By the way, the 3.5* DTD hotel at $86 for your date is almost positively the Hilton DTD. Not a bad price, though if it's $86 on Hotwire, a $65 bid would get it on Priceline (DWV, Resort*)

I just bid 60.00 on priceline, resort DWV, & got The Hilton in DTD for my 1 night stay.

Is this a good deal, or did I blow it. It was my first time on priceline...

I decided to book Comfort Inn LBV on Palm Parkway. We are going to be arriving late and leaving early. I just want a clean bed and a shower. We will be leaving early to check into the WL so I booked this hotel. I got two rooms, one with two doubles for $39 a night and one with a queen and a kids area with a bunk bed and another bed for $59.

When does Hotwire tell you your hotel? Isn't it right after you book it?

Thanks Spiceycat,

I thought it was a good deal especially when I noticed that the cheapest rate I could find on the internet was for 112.00 prepaid.

It is only for 1 night & the reviews fo rthe hotel look promising!
