We were devastated when all our usual Halloween events were canceled last year -including a longer Disney cruise that would have let us enjoy Day of the Dead activities in Mexico. :( Halloween's the most important holiday of the year for us. This year we've already booked Universal for Halloween Horror Nights 10/10 to 10/14. We're hoping to add a HOTH cruise to that. Before HHN we could do a 3 night trip, and after our HHN a 4 day trip.

If our main interest is Halloween events, are we better off with a 3 night or a 4 night cruise? We're excited about the aquaduck of course, but are mostly interested in the Halloween tree, the ghost stories, the Halloween parties, and the special Halloween food. Any thoughts? We most likely wouldn't get off the ship in the Bahamas (unless there's a ghost themed tour).

We did a 3-night Halloween cruise in 2019, but I wish we would have done a 4-night because it seemed too short. There is a pirate museum in Nassau that is walking distance from the port. It was fun but not fabulous. I’m not a fan of Nassau and would probably stay on the boat next time.

There are 4 nights going to Mexico but I believe you’d have to leave from Galveston or New Orleans.

We did a NYC <=> Bermuda in October 2019 (sigh, so long ago), that offered HOTHSeas.

This was a 5 day cruise, but the Halloween activities were largely confined to one pm/evening, so I don't think it would have mattered if it was 3- or 4- day.

As I recall, from approx. 4~5 pm, the ship was "re-dressed", and then during the concurrent seatings / shows / Atrium activities, major cast members and characters hosted the event in their special costumes, offering specialized entertainment, songs ("Monster Mash" anyone?), etc.
Guests were encouraged to dress up in {appropriate} costumes and "trick or treat" (grab candy) from dressed-up cast members positioned around the public areas of Decks 4 & 5 (as I recall). It was mostly over by 10pm . . . except for the memories of course!

FWIW, my wife and I packed lightly and her gown was for "formal night" and Palo. My lame costume was worn the next day for . . . uhmm, tennis!?

Yes, it was fun!
