Hey friends! I was wondering what hotels are right across the street from the gate. Or with in walking distance? And would you stay at them. We will be on a tight budget. We want a hotel for 8 days. Thanks guys.:thumbsup2

Can you give a list of things you really like/need in your hotel?

A daily or total price range?

And WHEN are your dates? That makes a big difference. Places right now that are in the $130- $140 range, in the low times can be down to $80 or so.

How far is your "walking distance"? You WILL pay more for a hotel that is an official Good Neighbor Hotel and you WILL pay more for a hotel that is on Harbor across from the resort.

But real quick ones that are "right across" are:
Park Vue
Dessert Inn and Suites
Ramada Maingate At the Park (there are two ramada maingates)
Best Wester Park Place Inn
Carousel Inn and Suites
Anaheim Del Sol
Anaheim Plaze Inn
Fairfield Inn

and many more not too much further away.

We did a quick trip down in December to see the Christmas displays and stayed at The Annabella. With AAA discount I think it was only $80/night! Super cheap! Refurbished rooms, very nice. Very close to the parks.

I thought it was a much closer walk than when we stayed at Disneyland Hotel!

Dh and Ds are staying at the Anaheim Plaza Inn. I can let you know after they go how it is, but it's really reasonable. I think AAA rate it was something like 65/night.

We are going the second week in March. I would love to spend under 100 with military discount. I would like a Good neighbor hotel. :woohoo:

There aren't too many really close places with a military discount. If they have one, it is the same as the AAA discount (which I also have) and they will only allow you to use one discount, so it never really helped out. One thing that we have at our MWR is some hotels offer vouchers. Camelot is one that offers vouchers on-base here in San Diego, I think they were $99 a night last year compared to $119 without or something like that. The on-sites also offer military discounts of up to 40% right now as part of the Armed Forces Salute program.
