My sisters and I are thinking of staying here, how was your experience at the Candy Cane?
For the most part, it wax great. The problem that we had was on check in. Our flight was very early so we got there well before 3pm. They were very nice and held our luggage for us. We walked to Downtown Disney for the day. We returned about 3:30 and neither rooms were available yet. This was a problem for us since our youngesy DD is disabled and it's difficult to change her diaper because of her size. We explained and they assured us both rooms were in the final stage of being ready. We sat by the pool since we couldn't change to go in. About 30 mins later we checked and we're able to get keys for one room. The cleaning people were just walking out. The other room was still not ready. We were told 30 more mins.
This went on for quite awhile. After several trips to the front desk, the room was finally ready well after 6pm. At this point, we had been up for over 18 hours (early flight and time change)
Other than that, everything was good. The walk to the park was short and it's on the same side of the street as the parks so we didn't have to cross Harbor Blvd. The free breakfast was good. Boiled eggs, cheese, bagels, muffins, donuts, toast, cereal, oatmeal, juice, coffee, milk, banana, Apple, oranges...It made it easy to start the day and head to the park.
The pool isn't anything special but was nice to cool off. Our rooms were right across the pool on the first floor. We had no problem with noise.
If you drive, it could be difficult to find parking. We only had a rental for the first and last days. We had to double park to pack everything up on check out.
We never used the shuttle since the walk to the gate was so short. I would say it was about the same as we walked last year from our room at All Star Music to the bus stop at the front. Maybe a just a little longer.
