I'm planning our first trip to DL way down the line (a year or two) -- just getting my feelers out there :) We've done WDW quite a bit, and have always stayed off-site at Condos with multiple rooms. Last time we stayed in a 3-bedroom condo near property for $85/night. We like to have a separate space for our girls to sleep (DD5 and DD3) because they go to bed promptly at 8 p.m. and we don't!

I don't expect to find that kind of space at DL. However, it would be nice if the hotel room had a balcony where we could sit and read or whatever while the girls fell asleep. I don't mind having to drive, although walking distance would be nice.

I know the Candy Cane Inn has received great reviews, but do they have a balcony? Any other suggestions?

We'd really like to stay at the $100/night mark although DLH sounds great for my Peter Pan obsessed DD5 pixiedust: :tink:

We are staying at the Howard Johnson in one of the Disney View rooms. It has a balcony, though I'm not sure how big the balcony is.

Haven't stayed at the Candy Cane but the rooms we stayed in the DLH Sierra Tower had a balcony - NOT. My kids still laugh about it. It's about 4 inches wide!
But the GC has a nice balcony.

Hoiward Johnson tower does have balconies, but they were about 2 feet wide. There may just have been enough room to place a chair and read on, but I wouldn't recommend it.

The Coast hotel (as was) had balconies - with firework views on one side, it's being turned into a sheraton at the moment though so not sure when it'll be up and running.

We will be staying at the Coast (Sheraton) from 30th June and we have asked for a balcony facing the park, not sure how big the balconies are , but its a nice hotel and in a good location.
Love Ella

@ HoJos it depends on what building you stay in. We always stay in the building above the little market, there's plenty of room on those baconies to put out a couple chairs. The noise from the freeway is quite loud however.

Well, not exactly a balcony but the Fairfield Inn has exterior corridors (with a great view of the parks too). I don't see any reason you couldn't pull out a chair and sit out there if you wanted to.

I hadn't thought of that. Does the Candy Cane have exterior hallways too? Which moderate hotels have this feature?

Thanks!
