Hotels that allow smoking near WDW?

DH has agreed to go back to WDW reluctantly, he is a smoker. He is ok with staying at a Value and going to the DSA, but is curious if there are any off site hotels that allow smoking. Please, no flames here, just a simple question. We are rule followers, and he will not smoke in any rooms that are nonsmoking. I am just trying to be accomadating as possible.

pretty sure the Sheraton Vistana allows smoking in their timeshares.

so I would think there hotels would allow it.

The Royal Plaza hotel in DTD used to have smoking rooms. I would take a look there , since you can still use Disney buses to get to the parks. We enjoyed it there and had a room with a huge tub.

I thought I heard either the Swan or Dolphin still had smoking rooms, since they are not actually Disney hotels. Not sure if it's only one or both, but I'd check them as well as DTD hotels.

Just to let you know as I had emailed the Sheraton Safari to confirm whether they had smoking/non-smoking rooms a couple of weeks ago, that I got this response:

(copied and pasted from the email from reservations)

"The hotel only has about six smoking rooms"

So you would be better checking in advance rather than booking and being disappointed!

Comfort Inn Universal Area have smoking rooms...
