Hotels off disney?

WE are going to disney at christmas and staying at the all star movies.
WE are flying and plan to stay at disney the whole time.
I am off work for the marchbreak and easter this year. we are going to drive down then, we will maybe go to disney for 1 day but want to go to universal and a bunch of other places ,does anyone have any good places were they have stayed and should i reserve them now or wait till we get there ?

I have taken a look at Skyauction, and it appears that they only do 7 night stays. Is this true?

The Sheraton Vistan Resorts a really good. They have a lot of good amenities. I've stayed there for out past three WDW trips and we'll be staying there again for our fourth.

If you want to have kitchen facilities then I highly recommend Sheraton's Vistana Resort (close to DTD) or Vistana Villages (close to Sea World) both are excellent.
If you just want a nice hotel room the Country Inn & Suites near DTD is great. You can book all these thru Holiday House and a TA in Canadian Funds.
