Hotels of Disneyland question

Jack,
After reading your post I did check my confirm. And you know it still says rooms are assigned on date of arrival. I called again and they said that is not true. Who knows? They did once again state that we are down for one of the rooms with a sofa though.

:scared1:That would be me - I'm budgeting and trying to crunch numbers and pick dates for a PPH stay, and I thought I had it all figured out down to the penny, including the Resort Fee. Did they just raise the tax to 17% on the Resort fee only, or is it 17% on the whole hotel bill?

Here's the bad news Sherry. I googled and found an article from the OC Register: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/tax-266531-anaheim-city.html

Here are the parts that I was remembering:
"Staying the night in a hotel around Disneyland is about to get more expensive.
The City Council on Tuesday night gave final approvals to a plan to tack on a 2 percent fee to hotel bills. The city already has Orange County's highest hotel bed tax at 15 percent." and "The tax takes effect Nov. 1."

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I was pretty bummed when I read this too. Just thought those who are counting their pennies would want to factor this in.

I'm very glad you told us - even if it is not great news! Thank you! Even though the 2% increase may not seem like a big deal to some people, it is good to know for anyone who is trying to figure out exactly how much money they have to have by which date, etc. - just so there are no surprises down the road! And 2% on an already high hotel bill is fairly substantial (for example, for those folks who are staying at the GCH or something - an extra 2% is significant!).

Sherry I am staying at the GC 11/28-12/05. The rate I am paying Incl tax is 347.30 per night on the weekend nights and 257.60 during the week. I don't know if this helps or not.

I hope everything works out they way you want it to. I have seen some upset folks at check in thinking that they were going to get what they had requested. We wound up with a double queen with day bed after our 6 nights at the Villas, never requested it.

Have fun,

Jack

Well the funny thing is I didn't request it. I really didn't care. I was just happy to get out of my ressie at the DLH with all the construction. I expected to need a sleeping bag. Who knows, with all the different info. coming from various CM's we could end up with a Presidential Suite. As a free upgrade, of course!;)
