Hotels near International Dr.

Hi Everyone!!!
I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap hotel near International Dr. Close enough for me to walk to International Dr. and catch the I-drive trolley.
I've been checking the rates for Oct. and they all seem high to me, I was hoping the hotels just off International would be cheaper. All I need is a clean and safe hotel that I can walk to at night after getting off the trolley.

We have stayed at this Microtel on Canada Avenue, which is one block away from International Drive. It's between I-Drive and Universal Blvd. We paid $40.00 per night through Hotel Kingdom. I don't know how close they still are to that rate as we were there about a year and a half ago but I'm sure they're still very reasonable. The hotel is relatively new. I think it was built in 2001. It's a basic hotel but our room was very clean and the beds were good, not that foam junk you get in some budget hotels. They have a small pool and they offer continental breakfast in the mornings included in your rate.

we were there last month and I couldn't believe how much the hotels on International were advertising their rates at. They were much higher than they have been over the last few years. I know the ones that have the signs along the interstate were over $70 a night. Just a few years ago these were $39. I would agree with www.hotelkingdom.com and see what the rates they give you are.

For the last few years we have stayed at the Sheraton World Resort,Westwood Boulevard, which was perfect for us. The outside rooms could do with a lick of paint here and there, but it was clean and friendly,10 minute walk to Seaworld, small conveniance shop and bars/restaurants across the road, and the trolley stop is right outside the gate. Two years ago it was $35 per room per night.
