Hi,
has anyone ever stayed at any of the hotels near Disneyland that are in the Marriott family? (Fairfield, etc) What ones are good, bad? Near the gate? I am thankful for any tips!!

We've stayed at the FFI several times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are nice and the staff are very friendly. There is a McD basically in the parking lot for those coffee runs or snack attack. There is a pizza hut on the 2nd or 3rd floor along with made up sandwiches and drinks. The beds are very comfy and there is a mini frig under the counter in the sink/dressing area. The sink is located outside to the bathroom which works best will everyone getting ready in the morning. Feel free asking any questions. This board will tell you their honest opinions. HTH!

We stayed at Fairfield Inn on Harbor in June and we loved it! We would definitely stay there again. It's very close to 2 different restaurants and McD's. They offer room service from Milles restaurant, they have a Pizza Hut onsite and a Seattle's Best on site.
The room was very clean, the grounds and pool area were also very clean. They offer free lemon or lime water in the lobby. All rooms except for ground floor rooms are accessable through the elevators which are in the lobby and they lock the outer side entrance doors at night requiring use of a key to get into the hotel, so we felt very safe there. There was plenty of free parking. The walk was very easy and only took us about 5 minutes to the DL entryway.
Here is my review for this hotel:

ETA: FFI is the closest Marriott hotel to the entryway at DLR.

I'm typing this from the Fairfield right now.

This is our 2nd stay here. While we like to try different hotels we'll probably come here more then others.

One of my requirements is an internet connection reliable enough to VPN into my office. The fairfield's is rock solid.

Its about a 5 minute walk. There are enough food options around here that we tend to eat at the park less which saves us money.

Both my wife and I feel this is the best hotel we've stayed at other then the Disney resort hotels

We just returned from our 2nd stay at the Fairfield. We stayed there the first time on points, and it would not have been my first choice, but we ended up liking it enough to stay there a 2nd time. It's nothing fancy. But the rooms are large enough, the beds are comfortable, and they are clean. Now we did have a problem with our room last week, the toilet would not flush well from day one, maintenance could not fix it, and needed to some back the next day, which they didn't do, and the 2nd morning we had a major problem with it. I called down and told them, and it was a manager who I spoke with and she offerered to move us right away, and she ended up moving us to a larger specialty room that had a 2nd room within the room (so 3 beds total) and that 2nd room was decorated really cute in pirates of the carribean. She thought the kids would like that. They were so very nice about it and did everything to make it right. They also gave us a voucher for free breakfast on the 3rd floor of the hotel.

All in all we have been very pleased. Oh also, if you have a view of the matterhorn you can see the fireworks very well. (not a substitute for watching from main street/hub area though, you just get the fireworks in the sky part).
