We are trying to plan a trip to Disneyland this summer. We have a large family - 5 kids - so we need a hotel room that can sleep all of us. I would also like a full kitchen so we can save on meals. Does anyone have any suggestions for hotels they like? I don't mind staying 5 to 10 minutes away if we can save some money. My youngest is 9 so we are pretty flexible.

Thanks!

The residence Inn on Harbor has full kitchens. I would guess it's about a mile away. But the ART shuttle runs there also.

Residence Inn two bedroom suites are awesome...stay in them all the time...just checked outta one this morning.

You might also consider one of the many local hotels that don't have kitchens but have good free breakfasts.
That way you get more of a vacation. ;)

Thanks! I will check it out. A mile away would be no big deal. The last time I went, I took just my older two kids. We rode the bus to Disneyland. :)

LOL! I would love that, but it's so expensive to eat in Disney for 7 people!!! I was thinking we could pack sack lunches, come back for dinner, and then go back at night. We would probably do one dinner in Disneyland though.

Look into the Residence Inn Maingate on Clementine. It is just past the GardenWalk shopping center. Much closer than a mile to the parks. It is on the ART line, but is also walkable for older kids. Their customer service is great. They'll even do your grocery shopping and put the things away for you while you're at the parks. RI can give you the advantage of a full kitchen with the luxury of a hot breakfast and manager's special, too.

We stayed in a Sahara Suite at Desert Palms Hotel. It is on West Katella Ave right next to 7/11 which is on the corner of Harbor. It is 1/2 mile from the door to the parks without having to cross Harbor about a 10 minute walk. You also have the option to get Art at the hotel or walk past 7/11 cross the street and take any ART bus and Disney is the next stop about a 2 minute ride.

Sahara Suite is a 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds, a living room with a sofa bed and perhaps you can get a cot? There is a full kitchen and if you do a grocery delivery staff will bring groceries to your room and put away perishables. The hotel also serves breakfast. It is a hotel not a motel so indoor corridors. There is an outdoor pool and hottub but it is surrounded by the building and not visible from the street. You do hear fireworks but don't see them.

We have stayed at the residence several times. It was great but maybe a little dated. They have probably upgraded it since then, for 5 the two bedroom would be great. Think of it as almost apartment sized!

Next week we will be at the Hampton Inn and Suite in Garden Grove just up from the Toy Story parking lot and convention center for a cheer competition. I reserved a two queen suite with kitchen. I will report back.
