Would anyone recommend hotels/motels close to Disneyland parking structures to catch the tram to and from the parks? Is this still possible? If so, which is easiest for a family with a two year old? Asking for my niece. Thank you in advance.

It’s doable for the Toy Story lot but not recommended for the structures (Pixar and Mickey & Friends). You would have to walk to the DtD entrance which at that point the walk to the parks is probably the same as the walk to the tram.

Not really viable for the parking garages...We stay at the Holiday Inn behind the M&F garage and it takes longer to backtrack into the garage via pedestrian walkways to get to the tram loading area rather than walk right into and through DTD to the gates. You can't cut through the parking structures on foot, Magic Way is the only pedestrian access through.

Yes you can do it but not worth it on that side of the park.

If you want to stay in the area by the M&F parking structure, the Majestic Garden Hotel on Ball Rd. (at Disneyland Dr.) has a private shuttle to/from the parks. Then you wouldn't need to use the tram. Otherwise, I agree with the previous posters.

Thank you for your quick reply! My niece will be going in the beginning of November.

Oooh! Thank you for the quick reply and an option of a Hotel with a shuttle! I will pass this information on to my niece.

Have your niece also check out the hotels/motels directly across the street from the Harbor Blvd pedestrian entrance. Many are within steps of DLR and very affordable (depending on time of year and how far out its booked). Tropicana, Desert Inn & Suites, Park Vue, and Best Western Park Place Inn are all good options!

I'd also recommend getting on the mailing list for Grand Legacy at the Park. It's walking distance on Harbor and they frequently have specials and flash sales.

Haven't been for a few years, but Homewood Suites is a nice newer hotel right next to the toy story lot. We walked to the lot shuttle but not sure if everything is still situated the same.
