Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Toronto... preferably one within walking distance of the Molson Amphitheatre, Princess of Wales Theatre or Eaton Centre?

Try posting this on the Canadian board and I'm sure you will get lots of recommendations. Even though I live close, I've never stayed there. Did you know that there is a deal right now that for $125 you get a show ticket, a hotel room, a dinner voucher and a baseball ticket?

p.s. Thanks for coming. T.O. can sure use the business right now.

I have stayed twice at the Sheraton Centre Toronto. Nice HOtel...although I don't know what the walking distance is.

I vote for the Sheraton Centre it's a nice walk to Eaton Centre. The hotel staff said we "could" walk to The Princess of Wales Theatre but the weather was bad so we drove. It's a nice hotel, good restaurants and you have access to the underground tunnel system which is a great way to get around the city!

I've stayed at the Delta Chelsea (the one Jipsy posted) and I really liked it. I've also stayed at the Skydome hotel and it was nice, but I preferred the Chelsea better. I'm trying to remember the one other hotel I stayed at on a different trip, but I can't recall the name (so I guess it wasn't memorable, huh?) :teeth:

I've also heard (as others have mentioned) that the Sheraton Centre is very nice too. :)

We stayed at a great B & B in the Toronto Suburb of Rosedale. It was in a beautiful house that used to be the clubhouse for a fancy golf course. It was a short subway ride to everything. It was $150 american but that included a fantastic home cooked breakfast every day. Fresh cooked bread, homemade granola, omelets, french toast , strawberries and cream, whatever you wanted. It was callled either Robins nest or Robins Roost. I found it on the internet.

Just wanted to let you know that the Molson Amphitheatre is in Ontario Place and is really not within walking distance to a hotel but is a short bus ride from downtown Toronto (Front St.):D

The Delta Chelsea is a lovely hotel. I would recommend hopping on the subway to get to the Princess Of Wales. It is only a few short stops away. Just make sure you get off at St. Andrews Station. You can also walk to the Eaton's Center or take the subway to Dundas or Queen stops for underground access to the shopping.

Thanks for all the replies. Many recommended the Delta Chelsea but someone over on the Canada board posted that they'd rather stay at the Salvation Army than this hotel! They didn't elaborate... so not sure what that was all about.

Sammi: What is Ontario Place and why is there a fee associated with visiting it? By the name, thought it was just shopping but somewhere on the net I saw tix to a concert coupled with free tickets to "Ontario Place... a $28 value."

Thanks again for all the replies!
