Hi,
We are planning to stop in Lumberton, NC. on our way home. We are thinking about staying at the Hampton Inn. Does anyone have an recommendations for a nice, clean hotel at this exit? Thanks :D

I have not stayed at this particular Hampton Inn, but I have stayed at several Hampton Inns up & down the East Coast. Except for one, they have been clean, safe (inside corridors), offer continental breakfast, etc. The one exception is the Hampton Inn in Florence, SC at (I believe) US 52. It is a much older physical building & not up to Hampton Inn standards. They stood behind their 100% satisfaction gaurantee.

The Hampton Inn at the Lumberton exit is ok - Relatively new, you can't go wrong with it. There is also a Comfort Inn at one of the Lumberton exits, I spent 3 nites a week there for about a year and a half, it's a nice place that might be a little cheaper then the Hampton. Cracker Barrel is right down the street and ya just have to go there for breakfast. There is also a Ramada that is an older property, but the rooms have been redone and they have a restaurant & lounge in the hotel.

Lumberton now has a full selection of newer hotel properties and the competition makes it a great place to get a fairly inexpensive, decent room.

About 17 miles south of the Lumberton exit is an exit where 501 crosses 95, there is a Flying J truck stop there that always has the CHEAPEST gas prices in the area. Try to time your gas stop for this place.
