Can anyone recommend any decent hotels in a nice area around Perry or Macon, Georgia?

Depending on what you want, sure. The ones at Perry exits are old, but Perry is a quaint little town to visit if you're interested in that. If you go north Macon enough, you'll get nicer/newer area; otherwise, I wouldn't stop in Macon (unless you are planning to visit the historic areas). In between these 2 is Warner Robins. You'll have to drive about a mile off the interstate, but lots of new shopping/eating/sleeping being built (& already completed). There's a new Laquinta, new Fairfield, new Homewood, a Hilton Gardens currently being constructed; shopping mall (don't get too excited it isn't much and it isn't new, but there is a 15 screen theater); a new BIG Kroger; lots of great restaurants. Does this help? If you need more, let me know. I know this area well.

We've stayed at the Hampton Inn Macon for the past 2 years, it's the one that's right off of I-75 South. It's been clean and they have the continental breakfast in the morning that's pretty good.

Hello,

I second the recommendation for Warner Robins... We stayed overnight there last June on our trip down from Chicago. Plenty of nice, newer hotels to choose from about 1.5 to 2 miles off I75. Was worth the extra few miles South of Macon.

Are you just traveling through, or are you looking for a place to stay for several days?

We always drive from Indiana to WDW (we're retired so time is not an issue) and stay in the Fairfield Inn West, located on the Macon bypass. (Zebulon road exit).

We like it because we always stay for free using our Marriott Rewards points since it's only 7500 points/night, which is the lowest point requirement in Marriott's system.

They have a good self-serve breakfast including hot waffles (you cook yourself), hot breakfast sandwiches (such as sausage & egg), as well as more continental items.

Also, FWIW, the gas stations at that exit have some of the lowest gas prices on the trip, so we always fill up there. When we drove down here on May 9th, we paid $3.55/gal. Most others stations along our route (I-75) at the time were ranging from $3.59 and up with the most common around $3.64.

We like Hampton Inns. Their website is easy to use--they have queen size beds--and breakfast is included. DD recently stayed at one in/near Macon & she said it was great.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I will check into that area around Warner Robbins.:)

We have stayed at the LaQuintas in both Macon and Warner Robins. They are beautiful hotels. Very quiet and both have wonderful free breakfasts.
