Hotels.com and Starwood

HI-

I am thinking about booking a weekend at the Swan through though Hotels.com.

If I book through hotels.com will I be able to get Starwood points and other associated Starwood perks (checkin at the Starwood member desk, room on Starwood floor,etc.)

All I can say is check, check and double check again. I have been looking for hotels recently (not disney)and I went to the hotels.com website, some of the prices were close to double for what I could of gotten them elsewhere (for the same exact type room). I was looking for a Disney room about 2 years ago and I believe they told me that they could not guarantee the rate. In other words they could quote me the rate but when I go to check in that may not be the rate I get. They did not volunteer that info. It took alot of questioning before I was told that! Just ask alot of questions and do comparison shopping before you book the room.

I got a mailing last year from Starwood that said you would not get any points if you book through one of the discount sites.

but doesn't starwood guarantee to match the price form hotels.com if you book direct? They'll beat the price by 10% or give you 2,000 extra points.

does the SPG program give that rate guarantee? That would be super if that is true. I have been a SPG member for 2 years now, and have not heard that!

Yes, I am fairly certain that the SPG program guarantees you the lowest rate.

I am so glad that I got this info. I had only been checking the SPG website for rates, since I knew I had to book thru them to get my points. I figured that if I wasn't going to get points, I would stay either at a WDW owned hotel, or if I was visiting somewhere else, I would just get a less expensive hotel. Now I can check other sites, get a lower rate AND my SPG points! Thanks for the info!!!
