DH has a conference at Swan and Dolphin but there are no rooms available. What are the closest hotels to the Swan and Dolphin? Walking distance would be great, and non-Disney is fine, since he probably won't be going to the parks. (Conference begins 1 wk after we return from our 1st WDW vac).

Swan and Dolphnin are next to the Boardwalk - across from the Yacht and Beach Club. Those are all Disney resorts.

Sorry - that your DH's conference is right after a trip! I guess the Downtown Disney hotels are very close. I saw the Swan/Dolphin from our room at the Hotel Royal Plaza once (stayed there one night prior to a stay at the Dolphin).

These hotels are not walking distance.

Are you going? If so, I'd get a pass for extra days, no expire. Or an AP.

The Disney resorts next to the Swan and Dolphin are much more $$. If he's not going to the parks, it's not worth it (and really, teasing!!). Can he get a car? I'd do that and stay at a Downtown Disney hotel maybe.

Or go to Google maps and see what else is nearby.

Good luck!

No, I can't go back (someone has to watch the kids!) even though I'd love to. He is thinking about one of the Downtown Disney hotels if there is nothing closer. At least that way he would have a shuttle that might put him in walking distance. I don't think he wants to rent a car and the nearby Disney resorts are super expensive and also not available. I was really surprised that so many are booked in what I would think is a slow week (week after Thanksgiving).

Just wanted to add-he runs 7-8 miles/day so walking distance to him might be different than for the average person.

After the Disney boardwalk-area hotels, the next closest would be the Caribbean Beach resort and the Bonnet Creek hotels, the Hilton, Waldorf Astoria and Wyndham Bonnet Creek.

All these places are a 5 minute cab ride from the Swan and Dolphin, but there is no way to walk because they don't have sidewalks. They are closer than the Downtown Disney places.

He may want to look into renting a car. Most offsite hotels have free parking, plus he'd have to get transport from the airport.

I heard nice things about the recently reopened Holiday Inn in Downtown Disney.

Maybe since his conference is at the Swan/Dolphin and they're booked, do they offer overflow rooms elsewhere?
