DH and I are planning a trip to US/IOA in Fall (late Sept/Early Oct). Very begging planning stages.

I would love to stay at one of the US hotels, but the budget-vacation-planner in me in forcing me to at least look at other options. :)

What are some reasonable hotels in the Universal area?

There is a Doubletree directly across the street, but I wouldn't call it "adult trip friendly." The last time I stayed there it was overrun with several school groups and wasn't a whole lot of fun. If you're looking for something quiet as an adults getaway, I'd probably go a bit further away to the Westin Imagine or somewhere like that...

I guess I should clarify. I don't need to have a quiet adults-only place to stay. We just won't have our kids with us, so we don't really need a place with all the kid-friendly ammenities we usually look for.

But I don't think I'd want to be lumped in with a bunch of field trips either. :) Thanks for the info!

Our upcoming trip in 5 days is an adults only trip and since we are only doing one Disney day and the rest is US/IOA/SW we decided to stay off property. We got this room, a one bedroom suite with a living room and full size kitchen with free breakfast buffet for $71 a night.

We stayed at the Sheraton Studio City which is about half a mile from the main gate. I'd stay there again.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Universal right across the street one year. They have really big rooms with nice tvs, a fridge, free internet and free continental breakfast. Got it through Priceline.

Last time we went, we got the Holiday Inn across the street. That one was nice too.

If you don't mind not being using Priceline, I have had good luck getting rooms for $30-$50/night.
