Hotels booked??? FREE DDP

Has anyone been turned down on there first choice of Resorts for the free DDP. I know they only have limted availability. Was wondering if any of the hotels are booked yet.

I was turned down. My first choice was POP. I called about 2 hours after CRO opened this morning and there were no rooms (standard or preferred) left at POP so I took ASMu. It's ok though. I heard they are releasing more rooms on Thursday. Plus I think people may move around their ressies so I may be able to get POP yet.

same here with POP. i booked this evening for ASMu, and i'll keep checking for POP. we'll be there 9/13-16

That's funny. I got POP around 5:30 this evening for 9/8 to 9/16. I guess it varies by when you're planning vacation.

I was told that Free Dining was only available on Garden Wing/Garden View rooms. That wasn't what we wanted to hear at all.

I would think the Contemporary would get booked sooner since they are minus one entire garden building and generally costs less (of the deluxes).

Did not get my first choice, CSR. I was told for my dates only three resorts available, AKL, POR and POP. Have stayed at them all, and chose POP. I didn't try to juggle my dates.

I called and got my first choice which was Carribean Beach.
contemporary was available, but I stayed with CB.
Love that free dinning.

I booked a few weeks ago and called at 7:00a.m. EST which was in fact 4:00a.m PST where I am. I had them credit my dining to my package and they took care of it right then, so I was able to keep my original ressie and was credited $355.60 to my ressies. NICE. We chose the hotel based on no free dining being offered so this was a nice plus. We got WL woods view, Sept. 4 - 8

I just got off the phone now and was able to switch my reservation over to POP Century!!! Yay!!! So I did get my first choice after all. I think now that the madness has died down a bit you may be able to switch your rooms around.

We were able to keep our originally booked resort (CBR) but had to change from preferred location to standard. Should we bother calling back after the general release on Thursday and seeing if they can move us back to preferred?

I would call back. Maybe even try today. I think that their systems were just overloaded yesterday. There is probably more availability today.
